The owners have also invested not only in the business but in the things in which they believe – improving technology, exceptional employees, and most importantly, building client relationships.

I like the ability to help clients facilitate a better outcome – that simple. For the bulk of sell-side firms, their ability to do that has declined due to a lack of investment in their business and a continuing decrease in product and service differentiation.

I have been in the institutional equity business for over 20 years. I have worked for numerous firms that are known for their exhaustive and unique research, like Sanford Bernstein, William Blair, and Credit Suisse.

I got into equity sales in a very indirect fashion. I went into real estate upon graduation, but the commercial real estate market was in shambles, so I decided to make a change.

My undergraduate degree is from Michigan in Chemical Engineering, and I went on to get my MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. My education really gave me a solid foundation of logical thinking and problem solving.

I love spending time with my family and being outdoors. You can find me skiing, playing golf, or just hanging out with my family around a campfire.

My edge is my ability to listen to clients. This is really important whether you’re young or old. My tenure has given me the ability to develop some very strong customer relationships over the years.
