The foundation of William O’Neil + Company is based on the study of the greatest winning and underachieving stocks in the market and the development of analytic models using one of the most comprehensive approaches to stock selection in the industry. With information dating back as far as the 1880’s, our database is one of the most robust in the industry. For us, data analysis is a part of an ongoing research project. While many other companies may simply collect, gather and collate information to compile into a database, William O’Neil + Company analyzes each piece of information to create a complete picture of a company’s historical performance. Our in-depth analysis is one of the key components which allows William O’Neil + Company to stand out in a challenging industry. Our data research has yielded a number of powerful proprietary statistics, ratings and rankings, including but not limited to:

  • Datagraph Rating — An overall rating for all major technical and fundamental elements found on the Datagraph, incorporating many characteristics that may influence stock prices. By looking at historical weekly trends, the Datagraph Rating is the easiest way to get an overall picture of a stock.
  • EPS Rank — A single earnings measure that gives great insight into one of the most important factors – Earnings. This measures a company’s earnings per share growth over the last 5 years and the stability of that growth compared to all the companies in the database.
  • Relative Strength Rating — Result of calculating the stock's percentage price change over the last 12 months and arranged in order of greatest price percentage. One of the most popular ways for our clients to see where momentum is coming from.
  • Accumulation/Distribution Rating — Uses moving averages of inter– and intra–day price and volume statistics to assist in showing accumulation or distribution of equity shares. A moving average of inter– and intra–day price and volume statistics. This rating clearly shows where money is flowing.
  • Industry Group Rank — Looks at above average stocks in each group as well as performance of the entire group against all other groups in the database. A great way to size up the market and look for industry rotation.
